Hobie and I first met in high school six years ago. I remember our first date like it was yesterday.   The evening of our first date he asked me to become his girlfriend but little did I know then in a few years, this man would ask to take my hand in marriage and become my husband.

After dating for six years and overcoming many obstacles together, we knew we could not spend our lives with anyone but each other. We went a non-traditional route and bought our first home together before our engagement. The very first night in our new home, I came home from work to a surprise, candle light dinner that Hobie cooked by himself. I thought he arranged the beautiful dinner to celebrate our new home together. But as we were eating, Hobie began to profess his love to me. Then he dropped down on one knee. It was such a romantic, intimate proposal and I love that it was just the two of us.

Wedding planning was not as bad as I expected it to be. I am so happy with our venue decision, they really helped make planning go as smoothly as possible. For the most part, I was a very calm but anxious bride. My nerves began to kick in about a month or so before the wedding. I started to worry about not having all the last minute details that needed to get taken care finished in time and I could not stop thinking about how excited I was to finally marry my best friend.

Our wedding day truly felt like a fairytale. We could not have asked for a more beautiful day and loved that our closest family and friends were there to witness and share it with us. Everything fell together perfectly. From my carriage ride entrance, to the second line dance at the end, and everything in between. One of the most memorable moments was when Hobie gave me his right hand at first instead of left to place his ring on his finger during our vows. We all got a good laugh out of it. My absolute favorite moment was when we sealed the deal with our first kiss as husband and wife.
